I have traction finally on writing this new novel. I’ve worked out some of the plot problems and developed it much further than I originally anticipated. It’s now a more complex novel — but a much better read.

I’ve written a little over 300 pages, but I’m only about 60% complete. That’s not to say it will be 500 pages when finished. After I’ve completed the draft, I will do plenty of revisions that will reduce the text back down to about 350 pages.

Because the plot is more complex — actually, there are now two intertwined plots — I’ve started using Scapple to keep track of the chapters and scenes, and to use as a storyboard. This image is a screenshot of just the first two parts of the novel. There are ten parts in all.
